Hi everyone, After speaking to some of you about new tools you would like to have, I purchased 1) A Hedge Trimmer (to help clear away tall weeds and grass) 2) Machete (for chopping down vines and branches on the fence) 3) An Aerator (this is a replacement for the one we had last year that broke) Let me or Khirika know if you think we need anything more. Best, Waiyee

Equipment for sale

If anyone is interested in starting their own seedlings (tomatoes, squash, onions, et cetera) from seed, I have 2 4-foot T8 shop lights with fluorescent bulbs for sale.  $10 each (that includes the 1yr old bulbs)

They hang nicely on these shelves (which are not for sale):

Starting things from seed is fun, easy (with some attention), cost-saving in the long run, and lets you experiment with all sorts of unusual / local / special varieties that you could never buy at a local greenhouse.  Note that these only provide enough light for small plants; don't try growing anything full size.

I also have a seed starting kit (I ordered 2, only used 1) for sale similar to this one (but longer, with isolated chambers, and without subdivisions in each chamber): $15 for the unused kit + all the extra chambers from the used kit.  Free seedstarting soil included in the package :-)

Lastly, I have some extra (unused) high quality 4yr 6mil greenhouse film, 16ft wide, with about 12ft left on the roll (we can measure before selling to be certain).  It worked ~great~ for me this past winter over PVC pipe.  $25 dollars if there is 12ft left.

Let me know soon if you're interested in any of these at mnaylor@princeton.edu
Thanks!
Matt

What New Garden Tools Would You Like?

Hello Gardeners! We are interested in getting some feedback from you about purchasing new garden tools. Please leave a comment with any garden tool items you would like to see in our community shed. If you do not have the ability to post or leave a comment on this blog, please e-mail myself or Wai Yee with your wishlist items and letting us know you do not have posting priviledges so that we can take into consideration your requests and add you to the blog. Please provide feedback before June 10th so that we can make the best purchases for the entire Butler Gardening Community. Look forward to seeing you in the garden this weekend! Khirika
