Hi Fellow Gardeners, I wanted to introduce myself, I'm Waiyee, your new garden coordinator. Most of you already know me but for those who don't, mine is the plot right next to the garden shed. A few things to let you all know: I negotiated a 5% discount for all Butler gardeners at Belle Mead Coop (they are located off Rte 206) so if you shop there, all you have to do is mention that you are a member of the Butler community garden and the discount should apply to all your purchases. It's a great place to shop and for those who don't have cars to get out there, I hope to organize some carpool options in the next few weeks for those who are interested. I'll also try to get in touch with the nurseries in Princeton (Obals) to see if we can get any discounts with them and will keep you updated. Also, some of you have mentioned that there is no hose attached to the water pump on the far left side of the garden, so I just put one in yesterday. It worked when I tried it out but if there are any further issues, let me know. A few other things: I noticed that there is a growing weed pile outside the left entrance of the garden (near the bamboo trees) and I plan to move that pile to area behind the garden shed, nearer the woods (just so gardeners in that section get more light). So, it will be really helpful if all future weed pilings are dumped behind the garden shed. And I will try to get the paths cleared up inside the garden so we can all get around easier. More soon...
